August 26, 200421 yr I have been using the free GA traffic utility (cool program btw) along with Ultimate traffic for my AI needs. I've been suffering some huge frame rate hits when coming into airports including non-major ones. It's sort of expected but the performance hit has been over the top.Last nite I taxied into KPAE and found 8 Hi-rez PDMG B1900D sitting at the various parking/gates. These were definately not the Ultimate traffic B1900D and are always the same livery I dl'd from PDMG. I know I should have converted the planes for AI use but werid thing is I had uninstalled GA traffic a few days ago.So question is how in the heck are they still appearing? Is this a symptom of a leftover file that I need to change or delete? Or is Ultimate traffic picking up these models for use? I unchecked GA in the traffic options but noticed a PDMG plane tooling around above me earlier today which tells me they are still being used. Any ideas what I can do to fix this?
August 26, 200421 yr Here is what I did and it was pretty fast and effective,. I used ACMAN (It's a very small hanger program from here http://www.mnwright.btinternet.co.uk/index.htm ) to switch all the aircraft I do not want to be used as AI to another folder, leaving only the ones I want as AI in the aircraft folder, then ran the program and it just used the ones I had left in the folder, very quick and painless. Put the aircraft back and then start up FS. Make sure if you do this to delete the first traffic BGL the GA program created.I used a bunch of the repaints in the library for the default 172, baron, king Air and Mooney, but I'll be getting the payware AI birds pretty soon, they look great.Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/PBTMCa.jpgCalVirAir International VACalVirAir International Best, Michael KDFW
August 26, 200421 yr In your FS/Scenery/World/Scenery folder, please delete the GA-Traffic.bgl file.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
August 26, 200421 yr You need to use frame-rate friendly AI aircraft in GA Traffic. As you've experienced, using high-detail, high-poly models will destroy frame rates. Here's a good place to look:http://81.208.92.5/0_Dee/fs_projects/index.htmlTodd
August 27, 200421 yr Thanks, that was the deal. Just needed to delete the BGL file and all is back to normal. Now I think I'll follow the above advice and repopulate my GA stuff with some specialized models and in a more thought out manner.Austin
