August 27, 200421 yr I know that you can do this with Radar Contact, but is there a way to request a direct routing from FS2004 ATC if you are in the middle of the flight without going back to the flight planner? I don't think you can.The thing that I hate about doing it this way is the danger of restarting your flight unintenionally (which happened to me). I was going from KBFI to PAFA (approximately a 3 hour flight). Two and a half hours into the flight, I decided to ask for a direct routing from BKA to PAFA, so I go back to the flight planner and I accidentally hit YES to relocate the plane. Two and a half hours wasted. So, Microsoft, if you're watching...that's another feature I'd like :).
August 27, 200421 yr You can avoid losing a flight by using AutoSave, available here: www.schiratti.com/dowson.html I've been using it for a while with no ill effects on performance.David
August 28, 200421 yr Author With the above program the need for manual autosaves mid flight are totally unnecessary. I have the program saving every minute for 50 saves then the program overwrites the first save and so on. Invaluable.Andy b Andy Brockbank
