I run FSX in Windowed mode and using the Vsync Windowed Mode fix.

 

I have noticed since using recent Nvidia drivers, currently 310.90 about 30 to 40% of the time FSX loads, my desktop behind the FSX window goes black. If I hover the mouse cursor over any of the decktop icons they become visible again, just in the small area around the icon.

 

This is not causing any known problems to FSX its just annoying why it happens - any ideas ?

Strange I seem to be the only getting this problem, my system is fairly bog standard.

 

It seems to happen about the time the Windows Desktop Manager shuts down.

One question, are you running REX just before starting FSX? When REX is installing textures, this exact effect occurs for a moment.

No I don't use REX, only thing that's different on my setup is the latest drivers - can't afford new software :smile:
