ai traffic not taking off on runway

Featured Replies

Please help!!!I've got fs9 and hong kong 2004,I've activated Kai Tak again and the ai traffic is taking off on the taxiway not the runway?!? How can this be cured?

The simple cure would be to download Lee Swordy's AFCAD 2.21 and move the taxiways and runways so they line up with the visuals. Sounds like HK2004 uses something other than the stock FS runways/taxiways, which makes it easy to get out of whack w/the AI traffic. Fortunately, AFCAD may be one of the all-time simplest programs to use, so give it a try.thanks,

Believe it or not, this actually happened in real life. Seems that a China Airlines pilot was in Anchorage, AK (I believe). For some reason, he mistook the taxiway for the runway and he revved up and took off. There was tire marks at the end of the taxiway, where the snow was piled up. This was at night, too.My question is how can you not tell the difference between the taxiway lights (blue and green) and the runway lights (bright yellow/white in the middle).
