Stearman and Cub?

Featured Replies

The above aircraft are two of my favorite to look at IRL.For the Cub, there is the default MS one. It's very detailed and the sounds are also OK. Unfortunately, it's "unpredictable" on the ground, to say the least. I have deveopled some procedure to get it airborne and landing it without it starting to literally do a pirouette, dip a wing into the ground, nose over, veer totally off the runway or something similar. However, I doubt this procudere is very realistic and sometimes it does it no matter what I try. I know taildraggers are hard to drive and land, but I have very little problems with the RealAir Scout or even the other default taildraggers...?Once in the air it seems to fly OK. It really want to straighten up if you let go of the stick in turns - I almost have to apply *more* aileron to stay in the turn than I applied to start it in the first place. Is this realistic for this type of aircraft or another bug in the flight modelling? Then there's the now freeware Cub by Bill and Lynn Lyons (Custom Classics). This aircraft is much, much easier to fly and land. They are like two completely different aircraft - so one of them has to be very unrealistic. It is my understanding that I can use either model with either airfile. I'm quite happy with both models visually, but I'm not happy with either flight model. Is there any really good replacement air file, or a fix for the FS2004-related problems with the Custom Classics one? I did find one or two .air files but they actually made the problems worse...Also, what happened to the FS2004 update of the Sterman by David Eckert? It used to say on the page that it was to be released soon but now the page has dissapeared from the face of the Internet...any news? I'm a bit anxious as I was really looking forward to that one.

Can't wait for the Stearman, will be a sure hit. ;-)
