September 5, 200421 yr I Have been following the development of the PMDG 737 and have the 600 and 700 versions. In the real world, what is the big differences between these variants? I pulled up the specs on the Boeing website and surprisingly, all seem to have the same range, around 3000 miles. Are any used on cross-Atlantic or Pacific routes such as from the U.S. to Europe or Hawaii? Thanks.
September 5, 200421 yr Aloha Airlines uses a 737-700 to fly from Oakland to the Hawaiian islands. They fly there 4 times a week. The -700 has a higher maximum takeoff-weight than the -600. The -700 can also carry 16 more passengers.
September 6, 200421 yr Thanks ThrottleUp, I forgot to include the 800 and 900 in my post. how are these different? Regards, Tom
September 6, 200421 yr The BBJ is the only version with enough range for long haul. I think Privatair uses one that has been fitted with about 40 seats for trips between germany and New York.-
September 6, 200421 yr The -800 & -900 are identical in everyway except that the -800:-is shorter by about 9 feet-can fly 224 nautical miles further-carries 280 cu ft less cargo Both the -800 & -900 carry the same number of passengers (189) - even though the -900 is longer. This is to meet the regulations for emergency evacuation.BBJ---737-700 airframe + 737-800's stronger wing, centre section & landing gear + extra fuel tanks = Boeing Business Jet
