March 9, 201313 yr Hello fellow simmers, I think I got to about page five looking for answers to the following and found no resolve after a couple of hours searching, I hope you don't mind my creating this post as I am looking for help with the NGX series. I am very new to flight simulation FSX and recently came by the NGX series having followed the " Flight for Tony". I am pleased to say that after installing this fine aircraft the 737 didn't really impact my frame rate very much at all, as always I did things back to front though and should perhaps have checked forums for support, Having found AVsim I discovered a number of things I have done wrong. FSX apparently works much better on its own SSD drive being my biggest mistake, Yes thats right its on the C drive. with that in mind I started to question, " what if?" I need to do a reinstall if something went wrong ? I might need to reinstall to a new drive ? I might build a new more efficient Rig ? After all the NGX is only licensed to me, I know this because I read the end user license agreement and I wouldn't want to breach the terms. In searching the NGX forum I found one post that suggested PMDG only allow two installs, one for the PC and one for the laptop and this has got me a little bit worried, my simulation and the NGX are running quite smoothly and no big issues there however the pilot does need replacing, :-( what can I say I'm new, I hope to get better with a little help from FS2crew, one last question? While I have the original downloads and information am I allowed to copy to my backup drive, While that's quite a silly question I just need to be sure, My thanks in anticipation Guss to Anthony Kemp. March 9, 201313 yr While I'm not a lawyer, don't work for PMDG, and am generally EULA-aversive, I don't think you need to worry. The "install on one PC and one laptop" clause is intended to limit the total number of systems you install the NGX on, not the number of times you install (or re-install) the aircraft. If you do happen to run into licensing errors during installation after all, you can always contact PMDG by submitting a support ticket, and they'll gladly help you out. And, as far as I know, you can create backup copies of your installer software to your heart's content. Just don't have those copies end up in the hands of others, that's all.
March 10, 201313 yr Author Thanks Lek767, Just needed that bit of comfirmation, i imagine the same would apply to additions such as FS2Crew nd EZ.Doc, as i see many posts relating to reinstalling, finding just what i need would have meant hours of searching, :-) regardsGuss While I'm not a lawyer, don't work for PMDG, and am generally EULA-aversive, I don't think you need to worry. March 22, 201313 yr Author Hi All, I'm afraid I have to throw this one back for further offerings, after much reading and deliberation I had decided to reinstall my FSX completely on the D drive, I followed the PMDG Guide completely and to the letter and even cleaned out file fragments in between the two stages just to be sure. Reinstall went well with FSX and I did a test flight with the keyboard before restarting, I then went to install the NGX 8/900-6/700 from the saved installer with my Key at the ready but the installer didn't ask me for the key at any time. Of course I tried a test flight again with the keyboard and all went well just a simple circuit, but when I ended the flight I received a fatal error and FSX was restarted, the default aircraft can be flown and flights ended with no problem however, the NGX always gives me a fatal error when I and a flight. This so far is the only add on, I only have FSX with default settings working fine and the NGX that has not offered the opportunity to enter my key, clearly I'm not going to add anything further at this time, I have probably missed something remember I'm quite new to flight simulation and all its complexities. If anyone out there can advise then it will be greatly appreciated at this time, thanks in anticipation. Regards Guss  Anthony Kemp.
