September 4, 200421 yr Hello,All of my FS9 aircrafts' navigation and landing lights have suddenly gone berzerk. Instead of the usual flashing, they have large pixels, or boxes, around them. Also, the same effect happens when smoke is generated (like as touchdown).Otherwise, performance of the game/aircraft good....in fact it appears to have stepped up about 10 fps.Any suggestions of what this light phenomenon might be?Thanks,4deucer http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/90208.jpg
September 4, 200421 yr Hi,Sounds like a problem with the Halo file. Can u post a screenshot of the runway at night and see how those lights come out?Mark.
September 4, 200421 yr >Replace halo.bmp in /texture with the one that comes in your>FS9 cd.Thanks for your suggestion. I replaced halo.bmp in the Texture folder with halo.bmp from the cab file on FS9 disk #2, rebooted the machine, restarted the game, and the lights are still pixelated.I don't think I mentioned in my original post that the smoke effects (wheels touching runway upon landing, and recip. engines cranking) are also pixelated in the same fashion as my nav lights. All of my AI traffic lights have the same pixelation.I've racked my brain trying to think of anything that I may have changed on the system, but nothing.Much obliged,4deucerP.S. Please refer to this same post that I placed in General Forum (TOPIC #209615) showing night-time shot where runway and aircraft landing lights appear normal, but flashing beacon and nav lights are pixelated.
September 4, 200421 yr Hi, try changing the hardware settings in FS...make sure 'tri-Linear' and 'Transform & Lighting' are checked :)Cheers
September 5, 200421 yr Have you recently changed video cards or drivers? This is a video issue. Either your video card drivers or video settings have changed recently.Start with FS2004 and make sure nothing was inadvertantly changed, then move to your video settings, then on to the drivers. It's possible if you've installed new drivers that you need to roll back but that's only one possibility. To be honest, the kind folks in the General forum will be much more helpful as they can provide correct settings for your particular video card/driver set.
