September 11, 200421 yr Got clearance to take off and did, as I flew to a Class B airport, and wanted to transition, yet I get: Choose airport 1 tune xxx.xx approach...if you click it you get: Click to create or open an IFR Flight plan.....That's it...can get nothing else In FS9 I then have to land without contacting the Class B airport. On one occasion, I was just at threshold of Ry and Jet flew over to land ahead of me, & flipped me upside down on the runway. sometimes a plane is just taking off when I'm on short final....any way to fix this bug? Thank you Eddie
September 11, 200421 yr Are you sure you're filing an IFR flight plan. Often, I accidentally click VFR when generating the flight plan. The MS ATC will not realize that you are approaching a runway if you don't get clearance to land first.
September 12, 200421 yr I'm using ILS glideslope, but not IFR flight plan, as you can file an IFR flight plan to only one airport, and I'm flying a route, with 3 to 5 airports in it! It would be a pain in the heine to file for each arpt, and also fill the box with too many FP's.
September 12, 200421 yr Author If you are practicing approaches, then you will not be a part of the ATC system to any degree. If flying VFR, you can select the airport, contact the ATC for landing, if they give you a different runway, try requesting the runway you want, and if successful, fly the approach.Otherwise, set up the approach to the runway of choice and ignore ATC. I wouldn't do that in real life, of course!W. Sieffert Bill Sieffert
