September 11, 200421 yr HiI have a strange problem that I wondered if anyone else has noticed. It concerns ATC voice playback. When I switch views to the outside view and then return to the 2D panel, from that point on the voice playback of ATC operates only at half speed (I know - sounds odd). It does not seem to matter what aircraft either standard or add-on. The sim seems to be operating at normal speed in terms of the ATC comms (i.e. the response prompt appears well before the person stops speaking) so it is just the playback of the wave file that is running slow and not the sim itself.Has anyone else experienced this and found a solution?
September 11, 200421 yr Author Commercial Member Hi!!This looks like the opposite I've experienced in my old PC...It made the possible to increase FPs, that reached 180 FPS stable!! Sounds great, but was a mess...it did so by reducing the SIM speed...so as soon as the voice ended, you had to wait a while to the response options to appear...! An F-15 performed stable and smooth as a 747, but as fast as a Piper Cub...till the ASI indicated over 300 KIAS...You experience the opposite...only with ssounds or also some strange issue like that...check if FPS are not too high, or, if it's the opposite, if they keep low even if you reduce detail...I found this SOLUTION:install VIA 4 IN 1 CHIPSET DRIVERS...if you have not this chipset...try to find any new driver that fits your motherboard...new AGP drivers, Chipset, BIOS updates, etc...keeping all this stuff updated is a nice way for a great working machine...check also video drivers!! TRY TO ENABLE V-SYNC, If your joystick or keypresses respond with delay, this may solve, and may solve also the sound problem...keep in mind that if Fs decides to hang for a few seconds during the sound playback, your response choices in the menu will appear before sound ends (is your system stuttering frequently? so that's the cause...to solve, buy new RAMs, or check your ones are all from the same manufacturer, your RAM may be crashing periodically if you use different kind of RAM cards, they need to be IDENTICAL to be sure...)Hope this helps,Mario Noriega
