737 ngx and standard ATC of FSX

Featured Replies

Is it possible to import a flightplan created by the planner of FSX into FMGC? Is it possible to use the standard ATC, and if not: is there another ATC as addon that is compatible with 737 ngx?

with regards

You can use the standard ATC, but you have to make custom "flights" for it.

That's the only way you can get ATC to agree with what you have punched into the FMC.

I make those over at Simroutes. Save em for FSX, and then you have to edit the cruise

altitude with a text editor. It will be 0 as it comes from Simroutes.

You can not edit one of those plans using the FSX flight planner. It will trash it, and

turn it into a usual goofy FSX direct plan. And ATC will have a hissy fit if you don't

dump your LNAV plan and go direct... Only use a text editor to edit.

I have a whole mess of those plans made up.. Most of the routes I run, I already have

one ready to go. And if I have to make a new one, it just takes a few minutes, and

then one more for the collection..

Of course, with these plans, you have to dump LNAV/VNAV for the approach if you

follow ATC.

VNAV usually the first to go, and then LNAV gets retired when you get closer.

But overall, it works pretty well.

Just look for Simroutes.. They have a flight generator on their site. Some of the

SID/STARS are outdated, but many are still about the same as the updated ones,

and you can tweak the route for changes.

I think you can also download the file to load into the FMC, but I've never used that.

I always punch em in myself. I just use the "Flight" for ATC.

Thank, you. This is optimistic. I bouth shortly Airbus Extended by Aerosoft, but they didn't mention that it's cannot use FSX ATC at all, and now I'm frustrated, so I'm looking for another advanced aircraft, but I like to fly with ATC. For FS2002 Just Flight made a very nice model of airbus, it was a very good compromise between realizm and integration in FS2002. How difficult is to learn to fly the PMDG product?

I also use the brilliant simroutes site to create FSX flight plans, but there's no need to edit them outside FSX. When you load the flight plan in FSX select the edit tab, change the cruise altitude and save the plan again before hitting OK to activate it.

I also save the PMDG rte file from simroutes to the PMDG flightplans folder. Then you can open a company route in the FMC rather than type it in. Feels more realistic to me. I always ignore SIDs and STARs in simroutes and add them in the FMC when I know the runways in use.

I don't have Airbus Extended but I don't see why the same FSX flightplan technique can't be used.

For departures I ignore FSX ATC heading commands but follow the altitude clearances. Same for arrivals. FSX has a habit of vectoring your approach in very strange detours.
