Replacing right MFD with stock G1000 for FPS boost?

Recommended Posts

Sorry Guys,

I just realised that nothing was saved in my previous post????

Anyhow, if you are after a frame rate drop in your SR-22.  Here is my fix in the "panel.cfg" file to shoehorn the "default" G1000 into the right hand side MFD.  One can still plan a route through the GPS buy pressing "shift 2" and "shift 3", bringing up the 2D panels.   This is because the VC MFD does not have the data knobs modeled, but are in fact in the center "tombstone" of the cockpit.

Sure it is not perfect, but I have come to enjoy the SR-22 again because I do not get the HUGE frame rate draw.  At least is better than flying around with the right MFD turned off.

Replacing it is as simple going to the [Vcockpit02] section in the panel.cfg, finding the line
gauge01=SR22_G1000!G1000_MFDVC,          0,0, 512,354

and replacing it with
gauge01=G1000!MFD_c172,                  0,10, 520,330

Remember to always make a copy of your original file incase you do not like this amendment.

Enjoy...

Tim...
