I have watched videos on youtube featuring the PMDG737ngx And for some reason my ngx and it is a purchased copy does not look nearly as good.

 

Actually the VC looks washed out colour, with no shade effect.

 

There is talk about something called SHADE in these videos. Is this what I am missing???

 

I am running the best computer hardware: I72700,GTX680 etc.

 

Iam using a Samsung 40 inch TV.

 

I would appreciate any help.

It's an addon called shade. It makes the shadow of fsx much more realistic, as you saw. But, in my opinion, it's a frame rate killer so...

Try SweetFX (available at http://www.guru3d.com/files_details/sweetfx_shader_suite_download.html). Unlike the Shader Mod, it seems to be FPS neutral for most people. I just installed it myself and love it. You need to tweak the settings, as it's not specific to FSX. Someone posted their FSX settings here: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?73751-SweetFX-for-FSX/page2. They work well for me.

Tell me, are you using DX10 with these shade mods?
