April 5, 201313 yr Just tried the Carenado Mooney in X-Plane. A nice plane, but it has one very annoying bug: When you retract the flaps, the aircraft noses down; when you lower them it noses up. This is exactly the opposite of what the real aircraft would do, it's not a Cessna! It's disconcerting that Carenado managed to make such a basic mistake. However I hope I can rectify it myself in Planemaker — so does anyone have any tips on how to do that?
April 5, 201313 yr They never got the Mooney's flight model right (even in FSX), I know what I am talking about .. I own a Mooney John
April 5, 201313 yr Stock RVs do the same thing. Just opposite of real life. Supposeably, it's a setting change to correct. But......I have no clue as to how.
April 5, 201313 yr Be careful: using Plane-Maker can be very addictive. Don't start this if you don't have A LOT of free time for virtual test flights where you check everything on the model you want to modify and you know from RL, by the feeling and "by the numbers". This is not the solution but a few tips: - Center of gravity: you can change this in the "Weight & Balance" menu. Check if the vert CG is not to low or to much behind. Be careful: changing this can make it impossible to take-off the aircraft. - Drag for the flaps: you can change this in the "Control Geometry" menu. Just change the "flap Cd" value in the Flap Specs. Cd is for drag, Cl is for lift, Cm is for moment. Read more about this here: http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?showtopic=12766 Happy editing.
