Please could somebody advise me on an X-Plane / FSX comparison

Featured Replies

Hi,

First to the mods - please don't move this because I've asked the same question on the X Plane forum but got only one (very positive) response. When you drop a big amount of money on a PMDG plane you know you're getting quality, so I wanted to double check here.

Basically, I know that you guys generally have a great experience with the PMDG stuff, and I've recently installed X Plane 10 alongside my FSX installation so I get the advantages of both sims.

I want a highly realistic jet liner for X Plane and I know not many exist at this time, though I'm aware we're getting an extremely detailed 737 classic and that PMDG have something in the works.

Anyway, my question is: Does anybody know if this aircraft is close to PMDG quality?

http://store01.prostores.com/servlet/x-planestore/Detail?no=398

I've read some reviews saying it's extremely detailed, but is that detailed compared to most FSX aircraft, or just X Plane?

I hope you can see the logic of me asking here, I'm hoping to escape some of the bias of the X Plane official forums to get a more rounded view of the aircraft.

Thanks

Hi,

closest to PMDG quality (visually, systems) at the moment: B777 by Ramzzess (the one you've gave the link for). The systems are almost fully simulated and the plane looks fantastic in 64bit, it is detailed compare to the best FSX aircrafts.

There is upcoming B737 classic by IXEG, which is supposed to be even better.

Excellent planes are those by Javier Rollon: CRJ200 and Jetstream JS31, very good is B727 by FlyJSim and there is also A320neo by JARDesign.
