October 3, 200421 yr Hi all-I'm running FS9 on two different drives: C and D with separate OSes (both XP Pro). Is there a way to switch between drives without having to reboot? I tried setting up additional users thinking I could use fast switching but evidently that only works within the drive, not between drives. Thanks for any suggestions,Mark
October 4, 200421 yr Just out of curiosity, if you are using the same OS for both, why have 2 operating systems???Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/PBTMCa.jpgCalVirAir International VACalVirAir International Best, Michael KDFW
October 4, 200421 yr I'm doing a little test. I've installed FS9 on a second drive w/XP and SP1 only; no SP2, updates, anti-virus or firewall (and no Internet connection) just to see how FS9 runs as I gradually transfer all my add-ons/tweaks over. I've often wondered what, if any, performance difference there would be having FS9 on its own dedicated drive/OS so I finally got around to doing it, hence my original question.
October 4, 200421 yr Cool, makes sense. I'd be interested in your findings as I know addons are what degrade performance, but I'd be curious to see how much.I have a design/internet rig with all my testing and addons on it, plus non Fs stuff and a dedicated simming rig, with only a few scenery addons, tweaks and mostly payware aircraft and the difference is staggering.Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/PBTMCa.jpgCalVirAir International VACalVirAir International Best, Michael KDFW
