Hi EveryoneReading through some of the threads related to the patch, it appears that some simmers have to insert one of the FS9 CD to run the program and others don't.I have no add on scenery, just some Payware planes and installed the patch as MS suggest without inserting a C.D. and it appears to have installed successfully.I checked out the list of bridges which were corrected and when I checked out that area on the program they were completed as reported by M.S.Checking the root directory of FS2004 the uninstall icon is there for the patch, and the notes relating to the patch are there.I can only assume with the bridges, completed, notes and unstall ICON in the root directory plus after the installed I received a message indicating the patch was installed successfully that it was installed, and no CD is required.I also had FSUIPC 3.40 installed prior to installing the patch. If there is something I have not done correctly could someone advise.Tks for any assistance if required.Kenny G.P.S. FS2004 boots up with no problems without a CD and no abnormolies.

Hi Kenny, I think you may have gotten mixed up between having to put the CD in to run FS9 rather than having it in to update it. After updating it you must have the CD in as replacing the .exe with a "no CD" patch "removes" some of the enhancements the patch gives... (thats how i understand it)So to clarify: you do NOT need the CD to patch FS9. But you DO need the CD to play it after patching. As for it running without a CD, maybe you patched a cracked version of the .exe ??

Thks for your reply Stainless is it #1 C.D.Tks. K.G.

I believe we can forget my previous Post, I went to check my disk #4 for FS2004 and could not find Disk 4 which I believe is the disk required.I decided to check my CD Rom E Drive and guess what, there was Disk 4.It appears that I have been booting up FS2004 with disk 4 since I installed it last year. How dumb can you be.Happy flying everyoneKenny G.

Yeah disk 4 is the one required. Well done for "losing" your disk 4 in your CD drive for a year :-lol j/k
