Skagit Bridge is falling down, falling down, falling down

Recommended Posts

Last week a Canadian trucker had too high a load and brought down part of the Interstate #5 bridge that crosses the Skagit River just south of Burlington Washington. Orbx has recreated the municipalities of Burlington and Mt. Vernon, as well as all the bridges in a wide area surrounding the Skagit Regional Airport scenery to an uncanny level of fidelity.

If you go on Google Earth you will see just how realistic and near exact the ORBX PNW world is to the real one. Although not strictly photoreal the landclass is so well done, that at first glance it is hard to know which is which. The first is FTX,  second Google Earth and the last picture is a screenshot of the doomed bridge from a different angle.

Special thanks to Hugh Johnston and his team for a job well done. I am impressed, although on the news and Google Earth, the bridge is gray, not a rusty rose. B)

Kind regards.
