OIL QTY Low: No reverse video

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

the following thread touches the issue

http://forum.avsim.net/topic/343276-general-maintainance/

but not totally:

My engine 2 OIL QTY % is now down to 1% and still it does not show in reverse video.

Little PMDG bug not to simulate this?

1. What is the threshold below the video should go reverse with the indication 'LO' behind?

2. What happens when there is no oil left?

I am just sitting at EHAM savely on the ground and run engine 2 idle with 4x speed to check this.

3. Yes, it would be nice to refill only what is really low. (The other thread...)

Is there not an aircraft (here KLM's PH-BGF) specific config file?

Well, in BH-BGF.ini I find the line

    Engines_LowOilQuantityInverseVideo=1   (quarts or % ??)

(But where do they store the actual value?)

4. But just now the OIL QTY % of engine 2 reads '0' without any effect: No warning, engine running smoothly in idle thrust...

5. Now after another couple of minutes indicating '0' the display changes to inverse video and the 'LO' indication.

Seems rather late, does it not?

6. (Edited 10:05z) One hour later the engine still doesn't show any failures...

7. (Edited 10:20z) Now the OIL QTY is -1%. Well, ...
