June 16, 201312 yr Hi Guys, these are the pictures of my last job, I hope you enjoy it. I have a problem, I do not know how to place the lights along runway and taxi ... could you help me? Looks nice! For runway and taxi lights, wouldn't you make the object and then attach an effect to it for the light color? Place where you need them, over and over and over again!
June 16, 201312 yr Author Hi Meshman..yes i would like attach effect on my object. All my object create by GMAX. I don't know how attach effect to object.
June 16, 201312 yr i assume you used the attachpointtool to disable crash boxes. In the attachpointtool, it also gives you the option to attach an effect. nice work BTW Best, Michael KDFW
June 19, 201312 yr Author I try to use attachpointtool but don't work... I go in MAXScript/RunScript gmax menu. I select "attachToolGmax.ms" and i select Simulator effect directory ( it's C:\programmi\Microsoft Games\Fligthsimulator9\Effects ) I select from attach point tool : Attach type: Effect Write a name of my effect and choose effect from list. Click on "attach an Effect" Export object witch fs2002 plugin directly in BGL. In FS9, object appear but don't appear effect.
June 19, 201312 yr make sure you select the effect first and the name will appear in the window and then you should also see the effect as a six sided box thingy box, which might be to big and need to be resized, but you need to click on the object for it to attach and then right click to close. June 20, 201312 yr Author mmmh i don't understand: This is my Step: Select run Script and choose Effect folder Select Effect in Attach Type Insert name "example" and choose effect Click on Attach effect. Only change that i see in then name in Name and color " title bar"
June 20, 201312 yr Been awhile since i did anything with FS9 tools, but the process shouldn't be much different. I created a box and then added a firework effect to it. I selected the attachpoint tool option and the window opened. i then selected "effect" and went down the drop down list to the effect and clicked on it. i then selected "create new attach point" which then shows me the mouse cursor and the effect that i can place anywhere on my box, which i did once (see the number 2 arrow). If your object is too big, you will have to scroll in to see the effect and scroll out if to small.. This way to actually see your effect and have greater control placing it. Hope that helps. Best, Michael KDFW
June 24, 201312 yr Author The procedure I follow seems to be right but I don't have "Create New attach point" button...have only Attach an Effect....
