nVidia inspector setting vs XP's

Featured Replies

I’ve been playing with XP rendering settings and also nVidia’s with the sole purpose of finding the sweet spot for my not so fast/old pc.

Now, I love HDR but with my gtx560Ti 448 at 4x SSAA + FXAA just can’t handle it and in 2X it just doesn’t cut it, too much shimmering, I also like RW and unfortunately if there are any clouds HDR will kill performance.

So I stared to fiddle with nvidia inspector settings and after quite a bit of testing it came down to the following options:

These settings yield all around best performance/quality ratio with RW and no drop in performance when in clouds and a steady 30 fps in my system. Of course if I get into big airports like Chicagos's Ohare, well thats a different story as my Phenom X4 o/c @ 4.1 just can't handle the autogen volume even if set at Tons (22 fps), so I only fly into small to medium size airports.
