IFR flight without .flt only .pln

Featured Replies

Hello,

I read in the manual that it is nessasary to save the flight in .flt format before start VOX. But I go this way and it works:

1. Start AS2012 and load the flightplan.

2. Start FSX.

3. Load the plan (eg. PMDG NGX).

4. Set the location (airport, gate)

5. Load the flight (.pln format).

6. Start the flight.

7. Start fs2crew.

8. Start VOX Atc.

After that it starts VOX with an IFR flight.

So my question is: Why I should save a flight in .flt format?

I only figure out, that when I start the flight without first load the flight I get a problem because VOX only can go in local flights. I think it is only nessasary if I want change the flightplan. Is this correct?

Thanks

Frank

Hi Frank,

Maybe this works if you are using just one single flightplan again and again.

It is good practice to save (and name) every flight.

1. Create a flightplan with any flightplanner (I use FsBuild) and save it to your FSX flightpan folder.

2. Start FSX and position your chosen aircraft on the departure airport at any parking you prefer.

3. Set date and time if necessary.

4. Load the flight plan (say No to move aircraft).

5. Save the flight.

6. Start the flight.

7. Start VoxATC (FS2Crew etc).
