I lost my waves

Jon:Agreed. Markus seems to be very responsive to problems that have come up. This problem seems a bit odd, though.Wilson

I know Marcus is working hard to fix the problems caused by ASD, but there seems to be a lot of them and it looks like it is going to take awhile. Why FSGenesis allowed the release of this package with out proper beta testing is beyond me. It has caused a lot people a lot of grief. I have uninstalled the package and had to manually restore everything. For a professional company to release this package the way it was is inexcusable. I like FSGenesis and appreciate their products. Hopefully this has been a lessons learned experience for them.

Justin probably released it, because no Beta Testers were reporting problems. Many of them like me, may be busy checking the roads, railroads, streams, and Utilities. As I was not flyin in an area where there was a lake or ocean, never did check the waves. :-doh Most of the time when using the FS, if flying over an Ocean, Im flying high, enroute to HI... and when landing there, too busy in a Jet to be looking at details like the waves. Soooo, blame the beta testers, not Justin. :-hang If we had been reporting things like this, he probably would have delayed the release a second time. In my not so humble opinion, ;-) waves are not a _vital_ detail, after all we used the FS for well over a decade without them.

The biggest problem was the remove of the effects (Waves), but this problem was fixed two days after it was reported. Currently there only a few, less than five, users who reported problems. The rest of the problems, I know are fixed. Most of other problems come from modified scenery.cfg files. The crash of the configurator are all related to scenery.cfg changes made by hand or other programs. Also the program make a copy of the two files which will be modified, so to go back to your previous state you should uninstall and rename those two files.Believe me, we made a BETA test with at least twenty members, but none of the problems was reported. If you look on release of other products in the past, you will see that none of the more complex ones has a release without crashes or problems. One of the problems for a developer is the highly configuratability of FS9. Last crash bug for American Data was related to a missing "]". This didn't harm FS9, but I checked for [Area.xxx]. So FS9 and Windows is a very complex relation and many things only occure in some special cases. And some bugs are not seen, even by 40 eyes, like the waves bug.I could only apologize for this and suggest you should wait the next time with you order a few days and look if there are error reports or not.

I apopogize also Marcus,I was just a little frustrated with getting things to work. With your latest configurator, everything is working great and I am enjoying the product. It is nice to have something that allows so much flexibility in how I prefer the simulator to look. Thanks for your hard work and the support you have given.
