For those having trouble using Rwy 12 Object Placer

I initially had a problem with items that I placed not showing up in the sim. The tutorial states that you should save your .xml file to your Addon Scenery/Static Objects Library/Scenery folder. That doesn't work. You want to save your .xml file to Addon Scenery/Scenery. Then your .bgl file will be generated in that same folder. That worked fine for the buildings, but when I placed a FedEx truck, it didn't show up either. I found that I had to copy the files add_SeevKahn.bgl, add_SeevKahn_Humans.bgl, add_SeevKahn_Trees.bgl, and FedExTrucks.bgl from the Static Objects Library/Scenery folder to the Addon Scenery/Scenery folder and all the texture files in the Static Objects Library/Texture folder to the Addon Scenery/Texture folder. Once I did that, I could place trucks and static planes with no problem at all.Hope this helps those having difficulty. It's really a great program.Jim

The files you mentioned are Scenery Object Library files. Think of them a books on the library shelf waiting to be used. If the books are not on the shelf then you cannot check them out and read them.FS2004 has thousands of Scenery Objects available in the scenery folders. Since these objects are already installed, you can use them in other sceneries by calling their GUID.In your case, the Fedex trucks, etc. were not in the library. Until you added them, in your case, to the Addon SceneryScenery and Texture folders. Now you can call the library objects.Jetways2.zip provides additional library objects. Installing jetways is a little more complicated since the same objects were used but three different colors of jetways were provided. A detailed readme is provided for installing jetways2.In general, library objects should be installed to an existing default scenery folder that is available over the entire global flight simulator area. Examples of these folders are SceneryGenericScenery, and SceneryWorldScenery and their respective Texture folders. Why? A library object needs to be installed only once, but it can be called numerous times by other scenery files. If a library object is installed multiple times throught the flight simulator, it causes bloat in the flight simulator files and may even cause slowdowns of the simulator. The above is not a new concept, if you download older scenery you may find a requirement to install Airport, ASD, NOVA textures and files.W. But I would think that having them in the Addon Scenery/Scenery folder would make it easier to share them with others later.Trevor
