August 8, 201312 yr Hello guys, I have in my system two GTX 275 in SLI mode. What´s a good graphic board to buy to increase the quality and FPS in FSX? A SLI System have influence in FSX performance? I only have 17-25 FPS with Nvidia Inspector and bojote setting and I want to have 30 FPS at least. Any advice will be very appreciated. (sorry about my not very good english). Thank´s Fred Matias AMD 1100T, 2GTX 275 (SLI), 8GB RAM, 120GB SSD (FSX), HAF932. Fred Matias Brazil
August 8, 201312 yr Hi Fred, While I have no direct experience with SLI, from comments I have seen from fellow simmers there is no dramatic increase in performance with an SLI setup (happy to be proven wrong). In regards to a new card to buy, if you are solely using it for Flight Simulator I would go with a mid-range card like the 650/650Ti. The prices are starting to drop down now and are great value for their performance in FSX. However if you are like most others, and play other games, such as BF3 or COD, which are more GPU intensive, I suggest you purchase a card like the 670 or 760. If I understand the architecture correctly, they are basically a newer model of the 570 which I have, and I am able to run FSX like a dream and other games such as Battlefield on Ultra settings with 80fps locked. This is with all fairly intensive anti-aliasing/filtering settings set in nVidia inspector (settings can be found in this post here) Another good place to consult is the hardware forum here at AVSIM, and for GPU, the correct section can be found here. Happy shopping! Regards,James White Aerosoft (Airbus X Extended/Twin Otter Extended/PFPX) & Majestic Q400 Beta Team

August 8, 201312 yr I had a GTX460 and then added another in SLI. I saw no increase in performance, in fact the opposite. FSX was built at a time when dual core processors was in an infancy and SLI was nothingness. FSX was designed to scale up with the hardware that Microsoft predicted at the time. This was faster processors, more memory but not so much graphics ability. I agree with James above. FSX does not need a great graphics card unless you are going multi-monitor. A GTX650 / GTX660 is all you need. If you are going multi monitor then go for a GTX670 / GTX680 but with 4GB of onboard memory. The best way to improve FSX is with the tweaks found on this forum and with Nvidia inspector.
August 8, 201312 yr Author I´ve bought a VGA Zotac GeForce GTX660 2GB DDR5 192-Bit PCI-Express 3.0 x16 SLI Support - ZT-60901-10M. I´ve paid about US$ 320,00 (Here in Brazil). I hope to see an inprovement in my graphics and FPS. Thanks to everybody. Cheers Fred Matias Fred Matias Brazil
