Black gauges in dual screen setup

Recommended Posts

Hi, does anyone have problems with flying the 737 NGX in a dual monitor setup where the second monitor is being used for the FO gauges.

After installation of an aircraft I usually use a second monitor for zoomed instruments like the PD, ND, CDU. After undocking the instruments I move them to the second monitor. But when I move the instruments into the second monitor they become black in PMDG 737NGX.

I added some lines in the FSX.cfg file as described in the introduction manual (WideViewAspect=True) and this solved a part of the problem. Now the instruments are there but they are smaller then the windows where they are placed in. I do use 2 different monitors, the primary has a resolution of 1680x1050, the second 1440x900. I changed the resolution of the primary monitor to 1440x900 but the images of the instruments are still smaller then the window in wich they are placed.

Does anyone has similar experience or knows how to solve it.

Thanks

I have experience this problem, but to be honest I never was able to fix it.  I have Nvidea a  GTX480. If it was stable with a multi monitor set up, I would of gone to town on it, buying an expensive GPU, and have a lot of monitors spread out. But because 2d is not in PMDG plans for the future I have stopped this idea of making the desk a cockpit. I find that flying full screen is a little unstable. And when I tried 2 monitors the displays got corrupted.

Now however, I have gone down the virtual cockpit route. Using Ezdok for better interaction, and now I can't go back.

My advice is, try and get used to the 3d cockpit, and use Ezdok. 3d is hard to get used to but after a while it is very rewarding.

I can't wait untill 3d goggles become more practical.

I am a newbie in multi monitor setup. I am using it in Wilco's 737 and Ifly and there were no problems with the gauges on a second screen. Never heard of Ezdok. I'm going to find out.

Thanks
