New to FS2004 and Sim Flying. Advice Sought

Featured Replies

Hello folks,Well I've finally decided to buy a gaming rig and join the world of PC based flying. I purchased an Alienware system and look forward to learning more about flight sims. At this time, I have no real experience with this type of software and was hoping some of you could point me in the right direction toward what I will need to make this a fun and educational experience. For example, what other software tools will I need? What joystick or yoke should I purchase, etc. On-Line resources, etc...I would appreciate any advice toward learning how to fly and using FS2004.Regards,

Welcome to Flight simming .I think that as far as advice /troubleshooting/tips is concerned you've arrived in the best place. Also for downloading addon aircraft/scenery etc- the AVSIM file library is without a doubt the best there is.If - once you're a bit further into things - you want to fly online with ATC then I advise you to join VATSIM(or if you prefer IVAO- but I favor VATSIM myself). Then you can fly with live ATC and as near to real conditions as you're likely to be able to get.One word of warning - this activity is highly addictive.Dave
