August 16, 201312 yr Hello Simmers! So as of yet I run FSX on a laptop, however I have been considering an upgrade and I was wondering, in your opinions, what kind of system I would need to achieve what I would want (and benchmark what it would cost). The following is available under my specifications tab... I have been having issues where FSX does not recognize the nVidia Graphics Card, and instead recognizes the default Intel one, and although this is important I have read that although FSX does not read that it is installed the nVidia is the active one (I have forced nVidia to run for FSX), and that's for another time and another post. I run FSX on an Acer laptop, with an i7-2630QM processor (2GHz). I'm not sure how many cores (where can I find that?). I have a nVidia GeForce GT540M graphics card, along with 8GB of RAM. Now as to FPS, due to the amount of add-ons I have installed, I usually get (in the NGX/Aerosoft Airbus X Extended) between 3.5 and 15 FPS. I would say it usually hovers around 6-7FPS. That is, of course, at airports. Over oceans the FPS count has surpassed 30, and with little scenery around it's usually over 20. I would be looking at a system that would give me between 20-30FPS, and no lower than 15 (at busy airports with AI at 50-100%). I know it's a lot to ask but does anyone have any idea as to the specifications I would need to attain that? Any help is seriously appreciated. Happy flying!
