August 26, 201312 yr I have a little problem with my FSX. I use now new hardware and my flightsimulator stops for loading sounds. Eg PMDG altitude callouts or if i test the systems... But not only with PMDG. Other Addons like AES do the same. Its look like some sounds how was not load before, will load and stop for short time my fsx... This drive me crazy. System Specs: 16GB Ram i7-3820 6.6 GHz @ 4,6GHz GTX550 Soundblaster X-Fi Music Windows 7 home 64bit I tuned my fsx.cfg with website of ******* bojote. Nvidia Inspector is in use and my frames limited to 30fps. I can reduce this effect with frames limitation but no elimination about this issue. My sound settings are set to 44.1 kHz and 16bit. September 10, 201312 yr Author Nobody any idea? Actually if i land PMDG 777 sim stops short to load landing sound... Regards SwenWeb Developerhttp://www.dafsim.comhttp://www.lcbs.de
September 11, 201312 yr Author So i have found a thread with my issues. I have found that the problems are most PMDG sound files with big file size are the problem. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/419325-fsx-freeze-just-before-nose-wheel-contacts-ground/ Regards SwenWeb Developerhttp://www.dafsim.comhttp://www.lcbs.de
September 11, 201312 yr I have no problems with the PMDG sound files, but I use the on board sound device. Could it be that you have put your soundcard in a PCIe-slot that is shared with your graphics card? Consult the manual for your mobo.
September 11, 201312 yr Author OK, thanks for sharing your info. I will give a try. It seems that the on board device is'nt working and produce the same issue like my sound card... I will take a look. Edit: Checked there is no other slot to use. Regards SwenWeb Developerhttp://www.dafsim.comhttp://www.lcbs.de
September 11, 201312 yr Your PC info says that you have an Asus PK5 mobo, but I guess that is a P5K. I had a look an the version E3270 manual, and that mobo has 3 PCI-slots. And the slot 1 is shared with the PCIe 16x slots, so a PCI sound card should go into slot 2 or 3 on that mobo, What version of the P5K do you have? EDITED: Your sound cards is a PCIe card, and there is only the two PCIe-slots on your mobo, right? I guess that the two PCIe 16x slots share IRQ's. Does your graphics card run at 16x speed?
September 11, 201312 yr I would try to remove the SB card and try FSX and the PMDG using only the on board sound device. Just for testing and rule out the possibility of any problem with the PCIe-bus.
September 11, 201312 yr Author Yes i do... Follow the link. I have the same issue with on board device. :( Regards SwenWeb Developerhttp://www.dafsim.comhttp://www.lcbs.de
September 11, 201312 yr This is odd. I have no clue what may cause your issue. I hope that get it sorted out fast.
September 11, 201312 yr Author Thanks for your support. I must update my profile here at avsim forum with my new specs. I post my specs at first post. It's an Asus Board P9X79. Regards SwenWeb Developerhttp://www.dafsim.comhttp://www.lcbs.de
