August 30, 201312 yr I am looking to improve my FSX experience with some real world weather and have been looking at Opus, along with other products. I have 2 computers, one running FSX and one with my navigation, atc and hopefully weather. AS2012 looks good, easy to run on a network, however it is just a weather engine. REX looks like nice textures, but has two bad points, one the weather engine is not supposed to be that good, the other is that when trying to find out about installing on a network you can never get an answer, you have to purchase first before you can get help. So here I am looking at OPUS and looks like it is getting rave reviews. My question is that with the advent of the PMDG 777 and the checklist on the EICAS, would OPUS allow me to see this on another screen, on another computer, along with supplying me real world weather.
August 30, 201312 yr Commercial Member You could display the checklist on the EICAS on a separate monitor attached to the main flying machine but I couldn't see how you could have it on a separate client PC since we don't have access to the PMDG software. Unless someone knows how to set this function up within PMDG itself. You can use an OpusFSX client to display a variety of weather maps and reports and also control the weather engine remotely. We offer a 30 day money back guarantee so you can always give it a whirl to see what you think. Cheryl
August 30, 201312 yr Sorry, I must have read the OpusFSX website wrong. I thought with the Liveview you could display FSX views on a separate network PC. I can't see the point of Liveview if this is the case as I can make another view, undock it and drag it to another monitor of the main flying machine without any other software for free. Is it just the weather you can have on a network PC. I'm not bothered about the Livecamera.
August 31, 201312 yr Commercial Member You can only display exterior (scenic), or external (aircraft) views on the secondary client systems. You cannot control the aircraft by displaying panels such as CDUs or GPS on the client systems - these are non flying slaves. As you said you can display any interior (cockpit), exterior (scenic), or external (aircraft) views on the main 'flying' server system and can use multiple monitors. Cheryl
