FSX automatically reciods & saves video every FS session - how to stop this?

Featured Replies

Hello;

I have noticed my hard drive filing up until full!  Checking the files I discovered the culprit was FSX making and saving to "My Videos" a video of the flight session.

I did not set this up intentionally and have no idea why it's doing this.

Does anyone know how to turn this off ??

At the moment whenever I open FSX a video is saved automatically.

Thank you,  WilloW

That's strange, because FSX doesn't normally record and save flights - as far as I am aware, it isn't even able to do so, at least not in a video format. FSX can record your flight for an instant replay, which is lost as soon as you exit the flight, and even if you want to record a flight with FSRecorder, it will always need you to initiate the recording.

Are you sure that you don't record by error with Fraps or something similar?

Thanks for the reply.

I do not use fraps.  In fact I never use the video recorder at all.

I may delete my cfg file and let FSX generate a new one - perhaps this has an issue - not sure.    WilloW

Problem solved.

FSUPIC was causing the issue.  I deleted the modules folder and reinstalled FSUPIC and now no longer have the problem.    Cheers,   WilloW
