November 11, 200421 yr There is a locked topic further down entitled " Military Option".Whilst I don't agree with all the suggestions put forward in the post and can possibly understand why it has been locked - there are however two things mentioned which I feel many would love to see included in FS.These two (hopefully non- controversial )items are Aircraft Carrier ops ( I know addons are available - I have them) to a good standard and with the option to be able to move the carriers around. The defaiult carrier we have now and the addons are completely static- wouldn't it be nice if they could at least be easily repositiond any where- better still if they actually moved in the simulation tho I guess that's too much to hope for.The other is Air to Air refuelling- again I'm sure there are quite a few who would love to be able to do this .Dave
November 11, 200421 yr I would love to see non-combat ops modelled. I used to live by Travis AFB and now live within sight of Luke AFB--both generate a lot of traffic, and that is part of civilian flying. I think most AI add-ons can add realism to these areas without an enhancement of the sim.A moving Carrier scenario would also be fun--and more realistic since it's a very real aspect of the career of many of today's civilian pilots.Same with Air to Air refueling, although that can also be simulated somewhat with existing AI technology.-John
November 11, 200421 yr I remember seeing something from Lago about air-to-air refueling on one of their products. This isn't a MS FlightSim solution, but doesn't X-Plane provide dynamic carrier operations? I don't own the product, but once saw a demonstration of someone landing on a moving carrier (deck was also pitching to sea conditions). I'm not sure if you can place the carrier in different parts of the world, but a posting on the X-Plane forum might help.Bruce
November 12, 200421 yr Author Hi Dave,Long time no see :-) Allthough I don't have a clue what the reasons were for locking the post you mentioned, the functions you highlight would IMO certainly enhance MSFS. Cheers, Rob Barendregt
