I'd like to know is there anything to lose if my texture size is set to 1024? Does PMDG 777 use 4096 textures and how much fidelity will I lose using 1024 textures?

Avoid VAS keep it at 1024

VAS is exactly the reason I would like to keep it at 1024 for 777. The question still remains though, do I lose any fidelity?
