November 24, 200421 yr I have installed fs9 (twice) on a new sony laptop. Both installs went fine with no errors; however, no config file appears after installation. I have 3 folders under Documents and Settings (Default User, Sony, All Users). Each has a Microsoft folder within, but no fs9 folder much less config file. I'm clueless and would appreciate any help! Thx, Roy
November 24, 200421 yr Author I assume your Windows is Win2K or WinXP?! What user account do you normally use. Press start and it should indicate the user account on top of the Menu Page. If it doesn't, press Start, Control Panel, User Accounts, and review what accounts are on the computer. If necessary, make a new account with admin priviliges. Once made, reboot the computer, select the new account, restart FS2004.Have you actually run FS2004 for the first time? If not, start the flight simulator in an account with Admin privileges, let it stabilize, and you should end with the intro menu. If you want, press ALT+ENTER to return to Windowed mode.Select the Create a Flight menu, select settings, and make some settings changes, OK, then exit the flight simulator.W. Sieffert Bill Sieffert
