November 26, 200421 yr Hi Barry,OK lets try again! It extends your primary monitor's screen onto other screens over a network setup, through the network interface, not through the video interface. It does NOTHING for the processing load of your main computer. It creates more screen room so that you can drag and drop stuff onto a second, third or even fourth screen and view those things.Again, I can drag and drop my AS and AR stuff on the second screen. But the main computer is still doing all the work. If I wanted that, I would use WideFS.In your example all the processing would still be done on your main machine, but the visual representation would show up on the secondary screen. Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
November 26, 200421 yr like Project Magenta, BUT it would run the Panels from the >aircraft, and process the gauges on that remote computer. Not the >generic ones that PM supplies, which are functional, just not >realistic.I have been saying that for years. And I know of at least one addon produce who is looking into this quite seriously. I absolutely agree. That would be an addon I would pay a lot of money for.Alex
November 26, 200421 yr Hi Jim,I completely understand what you are saying. However, this utility would be useless to me. What needs to be done is what I said about the gauges running in a seperate container across the network. You would install the Panel Graphics and import the panel.cfg file, and then they would work just as they do with in the Main FS container. That is what is needed!Barry
November 26, 200421 yr Alex,Shhhhh! Lets try to keep the prices reasonable :) about $50 USD would be a good price...It is going to be a hugh challenge. Project Magenta is prime to do this.Take care!Barry
November 26, 200421 yr >>I don't get it. This seems like a program that does nothing.>There is no need to go to windowed mode to move GPS, radio>stack, and other popup windows to a second monitor. Maybe I'm>just missing something here.>>David>Hello David, yes, you're missing the point. This is not about multimonitoring but multi PC...Before, you had to install Fsxx to both pc before you yould drag a new window to the other PC. Now; with maxivista, you can do so at will.I'm using it in demo version for the time being and it works great. Ideal for those extra gauges/screens like FsNavigator.I'm using two monitors on my main PC (main view and instruments like radio and throttle...) Now I can drag FsNavigator to my laptop and leave it there...That is what maxivista is all about...I'v been waiting for this one....Luc 'Glaudrung' Brusselmans
November 26, 200421 yr Barry, consider with the insane amount of different gauges available such an application would be far from trivial and would definitely have some limitations too. You cannot expect it to work with all gauges.Alex
November 26, 200421 yr Thanks Alex, now it's making more sense to me. Takes a while sometimes.ThanksDavid
January 4, 200521 yr Hi all. This is a fascinating thread with the exception that I don't understand ANY of it! (entirely my fault) so let me grope around for some help.I am about to set up a new high end rig (P4,3.6, 2 gigs, ATI,x850 etc.I will also keep my old rig (P4, 1.7, 512, FX5600.How can I "help" my new, main rig, by utilizing the old rig to share some of the load? What's the diff between MaxiVista and WideFS and/or WidevieW?Forgetting about dual PCs for the moment, what is the correct way to set up a dual monitor system that does not have to be flown in window mode? Like...step by step for techno-challanged dopes like me.THANKS to all those who take pity and try to get me going!!!Jim
