Top FS2004 Sceneries........

Featured Replies

What are the top 10 sceneries for FS2004 (or 20 if you feel excited on the subject)?I found London and Paris had photorealistic textures and airports with gates.Seattle, New York and LA too. Las Vegas and Hawai were below average and their scenery stinks, especially compared to FS98 Las Vegas photoreal scenery which was nice.I want the next megascenery to be Grand Canyon to Monument Valley, which will replace all that BORING desert texture....... Also, using the photoreal sceneries takes a lot of memory because textures are huge files. I was just wondering, if a video card was made with 5-10 Gb memory, do you think it would help at all? Upgrade from a 4 cylinder to a V8 on nitro? What would be the ideal super computer to handle the sceneries so you can fly fighters lol!Danielwww.danielmcaloon.tk

OK.This has developed a lot of interest....Daniel

HelloWhat in the world are you going on about???Is your post a question or a comment or a backhanded complaint?Thank YouTroy

Patience is a virtue...It look as if you prefer photo sceneries. The beste photo realistic scenery I've seen is The Britanny Islands by France VFR. http://www.wilcopub.com/prod_britanny.htmlIt is photorealistic using a special technique that allows a higher resolution than standard Microsoft photoreal scenery. This scenery also has custom autgen and lots of unique objects. The problem with this scenery is that it covers only a small area and that it requires lots of texture memory.Personaly I prefer landclass/mesh based scenery together with detailed (small)airfields and the major VFR objects. These sceneries have the advantage that they cover a larger area and generaly they have a smaller impact on the framerates. My favourites in this scenery type are:Scotflight http://www.visualflight.co.uk/scotflight/Scenery Germany 1http://aerosoft-shop.com/product_info.php?...&products_id=57Scenery Germany 2http://aerosoft-shop.com/product_info.php?...&products_id=70Canary Islandshttp://www.aerosoft.com/shop-re_s/canary_islands_2004.htmlTo complement the German VFR scenery I have some detailed airport sceneries. These detailed airports with dynamic traffic an moving gates is great when you fly airliners. I like the German Airports series and have the following:http://www.aerosoft.com/shop-re_s/german_a...s_1___2004.htmlhttp://www.aerosoft.com/shop-re_s/german_a...s_4___2004.htmlTo complement my scenery I use FS genesis mesh. (a must as I mostly fly in Europe). I collected several freeware landclass files to give me a nice base scenery to fly over.Good freeware scenery:Oliver Pabst - Bremenhttp://opabst.mysimflight.com/Bremen/Bremen_eng.htmlA good example of a detailed airport sceneryEtienne Vauchez - St Malo Dinar Pleurtuit http://mapage.noos.fr/euro_vauchez/A great detailed small airfield with nice surrounding landclassArnaud Cl
