Beech Baron airspeed indicator

Featured Replies

The default Beech Baron (and also the Cessna) airspeed indicator has a small button where you can regulate a temperature from -2 to 4 (or 6?). When you turn it ,the white speed strip moves.I flew at 12000 feet with 148 Kias (Tas about 185). When I turned the button to the right-most position the speed indicated by the white strip was 160 (corresponding to the position of the arrow). When i turned it to the left-most position I got 135.So what exactly is this speed? I suppose it is for some temperature-variation?Thanks in advance.Guy

Going from memory here. I never use that in real life, or in the sim. As I recall, you set the OAT opposite your current pressure altitude with the knob. Then the airspeed indicator needle should point to your approximate TAS on the white ring on the outer edge of the airspeed indicator.
