My Personal Observations of " Misty Fjords" scenery

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,I felt a need to post this as I am in somewhat a unique position to comment on the product based on my Real World experiencesMy background is retired US Coast Guard that spent 18 months assigned to a 95 foot patrol boat based out of Ketchikan Alaska. During that 18 months I spent many hours at the Helm of that vessel plying the waters of Southeast Alaska from the Portland Canal up to Wrangell, Chatham strait, Sitka and Juneau.Later in my career I viewed the same area from the Air as a C-130 Flight engineer for many years. After purchasing the product and receiving outstanding product support ( Due to my own scenery compatibility knowledge shortcomings)I spent several hours sim flying in the scenery package and have to say that the efforts to reflect the Real world environment by the product is awesome. I do all of my flighsimming in Alaska and have not been that impressed with the FS9 Alaska scenery right out the box, but this product, in my opinion, really raises the bar on the concept of flightsim emmersion. I feel that I am vurtually back in southeast Alaska like I was when just a young Seaman aboard a Coast Guard Cutter.. For me, the price of the scenery was well worth the large amount of effort that obviously went into the creating of this scenery.I appreciate the outstanding support and help that I recieved and if the next version of flightsim is anything like I experienced flying in the " Fjords" then we are all in for a flightsim experience like no other.... fly safeDave in Alaska:-)

Thanks Dave:I think you got to go to heaven before you died. Calling your assignment "duty" is a corruption of your orders IMHO.A simple one hop cruise visit is all I have at Misty Fjords, but in my meager world travels, there and the Isle of Patmos are my favorite spots on earth.Yea it seems a little pricy to me too, but all being equal, maybe not. Regardless, I am probably going to play Santa to myself on this one. I hate to pass up a simulation of heaven on earth.Respectfully:RTH 1585368CFI
