October 31, 201312 yr Hey guys i know this is not the right topic or anything but i am buying a flight simulator x but i see people talking about sp2 and 1 and stuff. i bought the pmdg planes and stufff on cd just here waiting till my computer comes. i dont feel like having to download a sp2 or 1. can yall just tell me which flight simulator to get that has the latest sp on it and that will run my payware planes without a prob thanks ! October 31, 201312 yr If you don't want to install the SPs, you will need to get FSX Standard (or Deluxe, that's essentially the same, except for a few more features) and the Acceleration Expansion Pack, which includes SP1 and SP2 (among some other stuff like the F18, the EH101 and the P51 as well as some more detailed sceneries), or FSX Gold, which is actually FSX Deluxe plus Acceleration bundeled. I would recommend FSX Gold anyway, because compared to the other offers that one is really the cheapest! Florian

October 31, 201312 yr You're very welcome! I totally understand you, FSX Gold is always the "safe" way, I mean anything will run with Gold (or Accelertaion for that matter). I have no idea about VATSIM, as I fly only offline, but given the amount of other users out there I am sure that it will work perfectly. As for downloading (I guess you mean installing by that) sceneries, they will work for sure (but be aware that high-end addons like the PMDG ones in combination with highly detailed sceneries can have quite an influence on your computer's performance). As for downloading (I guess you mean installing by that) sceneries, they will work for sure (but be aware that high-end addons like the PMDG ones in combination with highly detailed sceneries can have quite an influence on your computer's performance). your a life saver omg!! thanks for the fast response. and thats no problem. i have saved for nearly 1 and a half years just to get a alienware the alienware 18. was a big cost out my budget lol but i just made sure i got something that could live up to all the challenges and keep high fps. thanks alot man like i was looking all over the net and could not find an answer and vatsim is sick i had it on fs9 and it was amazing. live control towers and yeh lol. hope everything runs smooth on this new pc. oh and one more question. the computer comes qith windows 8.1 x_x u think this new os will give problems since its new and like not much companies approved it as yet? To be honest, I have not really paid attention to the Win8 discussion, because I am very satisfied with Win7 in every regard, but there is a dedicated Win8 forum here, I believe reading some threads over there will help you.
