When I am flying, if I altitude interviene during approach, the aircraft will not descend.

Need more info. Can you post a screen shot?

You have to make sure you set a lower altitude on the MCP and then press the Altitude selector (=altitude intervention)

 

Then, make sure the PFD displays VNAV PATH (Not Vnav Alt!)

 

The airplane will then descend to reach the programmed approach altitudes in the LEGs page. (it might not descend immediately but will descend to reach those altitudes).
