LO:MAC Demo

Featured Replies

Hi,Has anyone else tried the Lock On: Modern Air Combat demo yet?I downloaded it yesterday, and even though I knew from previous experience of the Flanker sims that it would be good, nothing could have prepared me for just how fantastic it was!I love the moving shadows and heat-haze on the aircraft, and the long-time Flanker feature of *every* object in the sim being of high quality. The Mirage 2000 AI aircraft that you fly the MiG 29 against is more detailed than most player-flyable aircraft in most other sims! I've also never seen gauges move as smoothly as the ones in the A10 cockpit, fantastic!I'd love for LO:MAC to be a great success and then we might see the proposed F/A-18 add-on for it with US carrier ops. Maybe even some other aircraft being made player-flyable such as the Tornados and Apaches. As the best, and possibly last, ever high-end combat-sim I think that as many combat-sim fans here should buy at least 5 copies of it each!If you haven't tried it yet, and you have fond memories of Falcon 4, Flanker 2, EF2000 etc, then download it now and prepare to be amazed!Iain Spowart,Scotland.P.S. Yes, I think those Russian developers have taken simulation to the next level. And now we hear that Oleg Maddox of IL-2:FB fame is going to do the Battle of Britain no less in his next simulation. It's one thing to present the barren landscapes of Eastern Europe in a flight sim, but if they can do Southern England well--and given the advances in hardware, why not?--that should really be something. Apparently he's going to improve the clouds significantly too. Over the fields of England in the broken clouds of a 1940 summer's day: I love the concept at least; I hope they can pull it off.
