December 18, 200421 yr The problem as I see it is that FS is hardwired to fly like a Boeing, not an Airbus. PSS and AntiCyclone both did pretty good jobs of getting around the differences using gauge programming but, in the end, the base sim is simply not designed to handle the way Airbus Industrie fly their jets. The *aircraft* isn't a problem, but from what I understand, the logic behind the autopilot basically has to be written off and a new one done from scratch. That's a pretty major job for a flight control system like the Airbus aircraft have. :-(In the meantime, I'm still quite happy with the PSS aircraft. I have A320PIC as well, but I've never really got on that well with it for various reasons (mainly gauge clarity).Just my 2.5p Sterling... ;-)Ian P.
December 18, 200421 yr >The PMDG lately has been killing my computer. I have no idea>why this is.>>Andrew It is just possible that this has nothing to do with the PMDG... Over time when using your computer, if you delete _anything_ . . . .. It can slow it down. Especially programs you tried and decided you did not want, which leave Registry information to prevent you from reinstalling it again. IE demo programs which limit use by time, tec..... Now, you do not need to know anything about the registry to remove all the _invalid_ links. Do a Google search for RegScrub. It is simple, easy to use, just click on "RegScrubXP Find Problems" let it run, then click "Select all Problems" and finally "Fix Selected Problems." The first time I ran it, it removed 267 INVALID links! One person I told about it said "it removed 1633 links." This also speeds up other programs, access to the internet, etc... Almost like you updated your computer. . . .. Each time you do something and even many times you are doing something like running FS9, the system scans the registry looking for modules, et.al. and it hesitates a fraction of a second on one of these invalid links. If there are few, you never notice it, if hundreds, and it has to scan the registry frequently, it can bring your system to a crawl. Bob P.S. Am in the habit of running it every day. As I use my system a LOT, find some links daily. RegScrub just remove three of them. Considering the benefits, the time spent is negligible, as it can run while writing messages, etc...
