I think there is a reason why setting of AI traffic only has a very small impact on performance....

 

Note that all Boeing and Cessnas and handfull other aircraft taht also are used for AI traffic in FSX are gone.

 

I tried to crank up AI settings at Franfurt airport. A setting of 20% airliner only mad one aircraft appear, icreasing it to 50% only made one additional aircraft appear.
