December 2, 201312 yr This might be trivial, but I would appreciate some guidance here. XPlane runs on Windows and also on the iOS operating system, on a Mac PC. I wonder if the add-ons developed for X-Plane also run on the same OS...Many?....some?... none? December 8, 201312 yr yes, most are developed simultaneously for win and mac, linux usually lag behind. Most add ons are independent on the operating system and work fine on all 3
December 10, 201312 yr Author yes, most are developed simultaneously for win and mac, linux usually lag behind. Most add ons are independent on the operating system and work fine on all 3 If most (preferably all) the add-ons for X-Plane run in Mac, then we really have a shot with X-Plane becoming the preferred next-gen F-Sim platform. This is good news. One of the huge long-term problems of FSX is Windows itself; who knows for how long would Win-7 be around and there are things that don't work well well with Win8... much less would work with Win9 and beyond...
