December 25, 200421 yr At first, sorry for my bad english. I have a big problem with FS9. I have new computer, new clean installation of Windows XP and clean installation of FS9 and FS9 doesn't work :-((It stops at the splash screen and tells me, that program made some failure and has to be closed. In the failure description there was:AppName: fs9.exe AppVer: 9.0.0.30612 ModName: ntdll.dll ModVer: 5.1.2600.0 Offset: 00001905What should I do? :-((My specs:P4 2,8 Ghz, 1024 MB RAM, Radeon 9600 256 RAM, ASUS P5P800
December 25, 200421 yr You might try upgrading to FS9.1...since you have such a clean install? Don't know if that makes any sense...but since you DO have this clean install of everything...it's the perfect time. May not help anything, it's just a thought. Victor Buck
December 25, 200421 yr "What should I do? :-(("Give us a tad more information. What service pack are you running with XP?What version of direct X do you have? Are ALL of your drivers up to date?Dan.
December 25, 200421 yr My first thought is directx. Check for the latest video and sound drivers. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the FS9.1 patch installs directx 9.0c? Or you can download it from www.microsoft.com/directx You might also rename (or delete) fs9.cfg and let it rebuild next time you start flightsim. I'm amazed how many different problems that fixes.

December 26, 200421 yr Goto Microsoft.com and search for NTDLL.dll. There are several possible solutions to this problem depending on your system. When you installed Windows XP, did you also install the Service Packs and any upgraded drivers/dll's at the Windows Update site? If not, this may be your problem. Hope this helps.Jim
December 26, 200421 yr THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR HELP!!Problem solved installation of WinXP Service Pack2!!
December 26, 200421 yr >THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR HELP!!>>Problem solved installation of WinXP Service Pack2!!Windows own service pack causes problems with their own flight simulator?!?!? I never have gone to the trouble of installing SP2,guess I won't.David
December 26, 200421 yr David, I think that he means the problem was solved when he installed SP2. I still do not understand why people won't install SP2, are they not aware of the dangers of not doing so? Oh yes, people may get by happily for a long time without any issues but eventually something may bite you. No SP2 is not the cure all but it helps a lot, besides on the vast majority of systems it has proven to not hinder the system at all. You see, people bring their computers to me whining and crying when they are broken, and I always hear "I don't know what happened, I never had any troubles..." Then I find out they had no anti-virus, or did not install security updates or service packs, or maybe had no intrest in anti spyware programs. One of two things is always the culprit, either the owner of the system did not know they were supposed to do these things or the owner thought that they were smarter than those who work so hard to create these updates and programs, in the end I am expected to sort out the mess. Don't get me wrong, I like the money but I think it is such a huge waste of resources when a little common sense could have avoided it all together. Please do not take this as an attack on you personally I am just stating my views, I find it curious the reasons people come up with to not protect their investment. I wish you all the best!Philip OlsonI'm the luckiest man in the world, my girl friend has a yoke and rudder pedals! Eat your hearts out!http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/supporter.jpg
