Smoky Engine .fx file

Featured Replies

Can anyone please tell me the .fx file that makes engines smoke when starting? I would like to get rid of the effect. Thanks

David Hinson

I think it's either smkpuff_m or smkpuff_s. Try moving one, then the other to a temp file to see which one is the culprit.Cheers and Happy New Year !Bob

Thanks - back at you!

Greetings,"{"=brackets....Each aircraft.cfg has (or can have) an {effects} section....Within this section *.fx filenames can be specified for certainoccasions...If the {effects} section is removed you may still can see a defaulteffect (if the file exists)...Instead, leave the {effects} section in and just change the filenamespecified: ("Spirit of St Louis" example) "startup=fx_engstrt_ryan" to:"startup=no_effect // fx_engstrt_ryan"The Sim should look for the file, not find it, nothing happens...This way you can easily add it back...:)JR
