Managed code example of gauge (airspeed) failure please?

I am looking for a working example of setting a gauge (PARTIAL PANEL XXXX) such as the AIRSPEED gauge to a failure state using Managed code (C#).

 

The SDK says it is settable and that it can be OK, Fail or Blank, those are the three values on the enumeration. I just can't get that to do anything.
