FSDT Addon Manager Adds Affinity Mask to Prepar3D.cfg

Featured Replies

After installing FSDT FLAX I noticed that under the performance tab in windows task manger P3DV2.1 core usage changed.

It went from not using the first core and using only the last 3 cores to using all of the cores. I am also now getting significant stutters!

Checking the Prepar3D.cfg I see that

[JOBSCHEDULER]

AffinityMask=255

has been added.

It seem that if you don't want

the AffinityMask line in the

prepar3D.cfg file you stuck with it

if you use FSDT addons.

Any ideas?

It doesn't add anything unless YOU tell it to.

Fair enough, I see that. But if you want to change anything in that addon manager. anti-popup etc. You are getting [Jobscheduler] whether you like it or not! I suppose you can just delete that from the Prepar3D.cfg though.

Even if you don't "see" the [JOBSCHEDULER] in the FSX/Prepar3D.cfg file, it doesn't mean is not used!

Of course, with the Addon Manager, you can change the affinity in a FAR easier way than manually making binary calculations, by simply clicking on the little CPU icons that turn on/off the affinity bits so, if you found the sim runs better on your system by not using the first core, just set it so with the Addon Manager, and save it back.

This FAR easier and FAR better than any other method out there, because you KNOW exactly what's going on with the core usage, since they are displayed in an easy to understand format.
