February 16, 201412 yr Hello friends If I want to I can buy the G940 cheap from a friend, but Im wondering if its any good for helicopters? Will it return to center with the force feedback? Can you adjust the feedback so there is no feedback at all?Whats your opinion about G940 and helicopters? Thanks in advance.
February 16, 201412 yr Absolutely! Since all forces are adjustable (centering force, force feedback etc.), you can have a very sensitive setup which works ultra precise also, due to the use of hall sensors in the stick. The throttle has problems though quite often. Internal wiring is too short in some devices which leads to non functional buttons and axis on the throttle. I can live with it, the stick is very versatile and a joy to use! The pedals, very important for heli flying also, aren't that good in my opinion. I use the Proflight pedals by Saitek instead.

February 18, 201412 yr Thanks for your reply Appreciated! Too bad about the throttle and the pedals. not to give a wrong impression, the throttle itself works like a charm, the big buttons in front of the throttle lever as well, but the smaller knobs on the lever itself, stopped working after a few weeks of using it on two devices for me. It's still the best stick I've ever used. It's so versatile, and the FFB, combined with a Buttkicker, really enhances the feeling of being in a cockpit very strongly for me! I'd buy it again.
March 18, 201412 yr If you get the G940, don't accept the default FSX force feedback - it's rubbish! Get FS Force from Dirks Software (http://www.dirks-software.ca/fs-force/index.htm). It's a little expensive but worth every penny. One of it's best selling points for me is that it gives you real-world stick trim - for example, when you trim the elevator, you actually feel the pressure being taken out on the joystick as it goes to the new datum. There's a fully functional demo available to try it out. It transformed both my joystick (MS FF2) and the whole FSX experience. i7-14700k | Asus ROG STRIX Z790-F Gaming WIFI | 32GB DDR5 RAM | MSI RTX 4080 Super | WD Black SN850X 1TB & 2TB | Corsair HX1000i ATX3.0 | MSI MAG401QR 40" monitor | Win 11 Pro 64-bit | Meta Quest 3

I totally forgot about that wonderful piece of software!
March 26, 201412 yr I've been using the G940 for a few years now, I can tell you that it is pretty nice ergonomically and fits in your hand rather nicely (I have smaller hands, but even still I find it comfortable). The forces are flexible and can be customised with the Logitech software, different force feedback magnitudes and centering spring strength can be easily customised, and of course, as mentioned above, FSForce adds a whole new level of immersion with the stick. However, not long after using it, I've started to discover problems with the throttle trim wheels, where they spike, or having bad data as the range on the potentiometers create problems. The throttles are not in sync and output data is a bit jittery. The rudder also presents painful spiking problems. These hardware problems can be corrected with modifications or fixes, you can find them easily on the internet. The product itself is nice and has a thoughtful designs, putting buttons where they won't obstruct your movement, but close enough to press them quickly, but I felt like warning you of the possible hardware problems you may encounter after a while.
