FSGlobal Mesh

Featured Replies

I am facing a complete reinstall of my FSX.  This is not voluntary--FSX tanked.  I have long used an older set of FSGenesis mesh with good results, however I am wondering whether I need to move on to FSGlobal 2010 mesh.  I do not need the entire world but am wondering if it is perhaps not more cost effective to just go ahead and pop for the whole deal.

Comments?  Isn't FSGlobal recommended by the mavens at Orbx?

I just installed FS Global 2010 two days ago after I hesitated to do so for months. On my old machine, the install took very long and I had some initial problems with it. On my current machine, equipped with SSDs, the installation of the 19.6 GB took a little more than an hour, and all went flawlessly. After the first flights, I just love the results. Combined with FTX Global, it looks simply awesome!

I'm still in the old time hard drive world but using a pretty heavy Jetline computer.  Install might take a little while but that's OK, I got nowhere to go.   And yeah, I'm running FTXG also.

You can get the same results by downloading the free mesh that is available around the FS world. Yes..., the marketing hype will say "buy our's, it's special" and that's a bunch of... marketing hype.
